A Closer Look: Made in Italy Trainers

This spring/summer season marks the launch of our Italian-made footwear - the first Outclass product manufactured outside of Canada. The introduction of a ‘Made in Italy’ product is a landmark at Outclass, as so much of our inspiration is drawn from the quality, the culture and our heritage to the country. These trainers are crafted in the Marche, a region of northern Italy renowned for its shoe production.

Everything about these trainers are made in Italy, from the Margom natural rubber sole, to the calfskin leather, and the waxed cotton laces. When we initiated the design process of this footwear collection, a focus on simplicity, comfort and practicality was central. Using the classic Italian tennis shoe design as a base, we elevated our shoe through the addition of a seamless toecap, contrast suede back panel, plush padded tongue and vegetable tanned calfskin lining.

Creating a timeless shoe meant selecting colour ways that transcend seasons. The colour selections of olive green and indigo blue were inspired by Italy’s connection to the land and the sea. Sitting the meticulously crafted shoes on a natural rubber sole creates a subtle contrast differentiating our shoes from the norm.
